Hudson Public House - Opening soon on Lake City Way

The owners of Collins Pub in Pioneer Square recently announced to the public that they would be opening a new pub on Lake City Way and 15th. What was formerly Annita's Bistro will soon be transformed into Hudson Public House. Although it will neighbor Coopers, I'm holding out hope for an amazing menu (something Coopers lacks).

Jenga
Don't be dissin' on Coopers! I participated in the best (sober) game of Jenga EVER at Coopers. :)

New pub
Great news - there's always room for more places to go around here! I will look for it.

Jenga
I heard about that epic Jenga game. I love Coopers - but their menu leaves something to be desired.

Hudson Public House/ (Collins Pub is NOT closing!)
(Disclaimer: Collins Pub Owner's Wife!) Just thought I would correct this post- Collins Pub is NOT closing, we are in it for the long haul in Pioneer Square! It is my father-in-law's Pioneer Square restaurant, Trattoria Mitchelli's, that has announced they will be closing. Hudson Public House will be a second location for us. We will have a terrific menu for happy hour/dinner on weekdays and will serve brunch on the weekends. Just thought I would squash this rumor- don't want our downtown business to suffer or freak out our employees!

Excited for Hudson
I popped in there the other day while waiting for the bus. Looks good! Can't wait to toast the new place with a Kwak (they have it on tap!)

Great food at Hudson's tonight!
Several of the Howard's neighbors gathered Tuesday and Wednesday evening at the Hudson to help welcome their pub to our 'hood. I had perfectly grilled shrimp; others had burgers and pasta. All delicious! What a good, kid-friendly, place for meeting friends and neighbors for a cold beer and a tasty bite.

Hudson is Heaven!
Finally, a refuge for those who do not care for Cooper's and needed an alternative to the very cozy neighborhood grill on 35th whose named will not be mentioned here for fear of cluttering the bar. Hudson is a terrific space, very urban contemporary. The menu is very promising. Some items were out of this world, some were, let's face it, not impressive. The veggie burger is a beets burger that does not hold up on the bun and the banana beignet was awful. The onion tart is sublime, the house salad perfection. Lavender rabbit was unexpectedly delectible. Good jazz, excellent choice of beers on tap. Wifi, HD TV, great food, great beverages and enthusiastic service. Score one for Hudson! The north end could use several more places like this since Hudson is already going gangbusters and was packed and loud on a Wednesday night.

Hudson - pls, don't turn it into a mommy bar!
Kid-friendly? Argh. Please, save a space for the adults in the north end. The double-wide stroller people have already taken over all the coffee houses with parking lots. I saw a baby last night that did not look happy with the loud music. The adults all looked supremely pleased with Hudson.
