"The Seattle Police SWAT team responded to a report of an armed man barricaded in the Meadowbrook View Apartments near the intersection of NE 113th Street and Lake City Way NE about 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Police guide residents out of a neighboring apartment building during the standoff at the Meadowbrook View apartments. But after a lengthy standoff, officers discovered there was nobody inside.
The incident originated as an assault call. Before the standoff started, a female victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center with multiple cuts to her face, police spokesman Jeff Kappel said. Her condition was unknown.
About 7:45 p.m., Kappel said police thought the suspect was alone inside the apartment.
About 10 p.m., the SWAT team entered the unit only to find it empty and pulled off the scene. Several police units are actively searching for the suspect, Kappel said. He is considered armed and dangerous."
