Seattle Mini: Big News for Lake City's Auto Row

One of my least favorite things about living in Lake City is the car lots that monopolize the real estate along Lake City Way. I never thought the day would come that I would celebrate, even rejoice, in the another car dealership on Lake City Way. But that day is here.

If you're anything like me you've been eagerly watching the construction - awaiting the opening of Seattle Mini. Driving by the other day, I noticed that the signs were up and there were cars in the lot. I stopped by hoping to find out about opening day. According to the men in orange vests, opening day is October 5th - and really, who doesn't trust a man in an orange vest.

To prepare for opening day, I strongly suggest that each and everyone of you spend the rest of this week playing "The Jump Game". I've spent way too much time on Mini's website designing my perfect Mini and playing Jump. It never fails to be an enjoyable way of wasting time.

For the past 5 years my friends and family have tolerated my infatuation with Minis. It seems as though the stars have aligned - Mini came to me and it might just be time for me break down and buy a car. If you would like to support my cause, please send cash donations.

Stars aligning
Great post, D.

Seems the stars are aligning. Can't wait for you to take me for a joy ride in your brand new mini!

And that game was mass amounts of fun.

Lake City Mini brings great commercial architecture
I, too, love the new black with lots of glass and color blocks of red and yellow. Even the flowers match the yellow. Hope the economy recovers to I can afford a (used) Mini.

A welcome new auto dealership
I too, often lament the number of auto dealerships on LCW. But the Mini dealership certainly raises the style and beauty level there. Perhaps it will help the local businesses too. Were I coming to Lake City to shop for a Mini, I certainly would want to stop somewhere nearby for a coffee, lunch, etc.

I was excited too.
I owned a 2003 Mini Cooper S. I loved that car. I hated driving to Fife though for service. Too bad I don't have it anymore, it would have been so much more convenient. You should buy one if you are thinking about it. After you buy one then go here and really enjoy it. http://www.wwscc.org.

I was excited too...until I dealt with their service department
I have been waiting months for the new dealer to open up so I didn't have to drive down to Tacoma to have my mini serviced. The people were nice but they wanted to charge me $1,800 to replace my headlights and that is on top of the $250 they charged to even look at my mini. I found another mechanic who replaced my headlights for $1050. Profit isn't a dirty word, but this is just bad business.
Not a good start for a new dealer.
