Cranium under new ownership?

Does anyone know what’s going on at Cranium? Cranium Coffee Shop and Collectibles closed over 2 years ago and the neighborhood is still mourning its absence. The building, bright purple with a funky statue out front, stands out from the rest of the somewhat drab architecture on Lake City Way.  Even with its windows boarded up, the building screams forth with life and energy that makes is closure even more painful. From what I can gather, it closed due to a divorce.

The question today is, who painted Cranium?  The building’s eggplant purple has been covered with many, many coats of white paint. Through the plastic covered windows, I could see lights on yesterday. Can we dare to hope that someone other than Bill Pierre Ford has plans to reopen this building.
