We asked for more caffeine and now we have it!  Delivered straight to your door!  The new Bean City Coffee is located on Lake City Way and 127th just West of Toyada Sushi.  Currently you can order coffee through a walk-up window or have it delivered.  Look for Bean City to stop by your local Lake City business to take orders.

Currently Bean City's Interior is under construction so no lounging on the inside just yet.  They hope to have it completed five weeks from now and plan on offering Eggs Benedict and other tasty treats for breakfast.

Does Bean City's staff looks familiar?  That's because these guys are no novices!  The owner also run the espresso cart in front of Greenlake's boathouse.

Since Bean City is just starting out they are open to suggestions.  Stop by and try a cup of thier Joe!

Although we do have our very own Starbucks, Lake City is in desperate need of coffee that doesn't taste and smell like Howard Schultz.  I'm a big fan of Diva Espresso. Diva Espresso sits just outside of the Lake City where Lake City Way meets 1-5 - but it's far from the bustling center of Lake City.

Bigfoot Car Wash hosts a Chicka Latte, a drive through coffee shop where it's Halloween every day.  Here baristas are given allowances to pick from a variety of pre-approved costumes including the ever popular sexy school girl uniform, the leotard firefighter uniform, and don't forget Sponge Bath Betty. I'm pretty sure men buy coffee here that they never intend to drink. Did I mention it was half a block south of Ricks?  Chicka Latte does support local vendors and sustainable farming which is nice. Flava, a funky bohemian coffee house, recently shut down. They held a retail space in the Solara apartments, next to what once was Mad Pizza.  With Flava and Mad Pizza both gone, there's plenty of empty retail space for... (more)

Does anyone know what's going on at Cranium? Cranium Coffee Shop and Collectibles closed over 2 years ago and the neighborhood is still mourning its absence. The building, bright purple with a funky statue out front, stands out from the rest of the somewhat drab architecture on Lake City Way.  Even with its windows boarded up, the building screams forth with life and energy that makes is closure even more painful. From what I can gather, it closed due to a divorce.

The question today is, who painted Cranium?  The building's eggplant purple has been covered with many, many coats of white paint. Through the plastic covered windows, I could see lights on yesterday. Can we dare to hope that someone other than Bill Pierre Ford has plans to reopen this building.
